"Impression", tapestry, hall 10
Anna Nikolova Tuzsuzova was born on 17.04.1937 in Sofia. Daughter of Neva Tuzsuzova and artist Nikola Tuzsuzov (1900-1997). In 1960 she graduated from the decorative-monumental painting department at the "N. Pavlovich" Art Institute under Prof. G. Bogdanov. She works in decorative-monumental painting, wall carpets, scenography and book illustration. Scenographer of the "Stoyan Bachvarov" Drama Theater in Varna (1963-1965). She works with the "Capitol" publishing house (1975-1977), Bologna and the "Gaken" publishing house, Tokyo (since 1977) to illustrate children's books. She collaborates with the Bulgarian National Television (1972-1978) in children's programs. She designed sets for theatrical productions. She illustrated a large number of children's books, including "Tales from Around the World" (1972-1975), "1001 Nights" (1975), etc. She received the 1st prize from the Union of Bulgarian Artists for a wall carpet (1968), the 2nd prize from the Union of Bulgarian Artists and the Control Commission (CC) for book illustration (1978, 1980). She participated in the Bulgarian feature film "Uncle" (1996) (in the role of a gallery owner).
The "Impression" tapestry is constructed in an extremely fine and picturesque way.
The colors in the tapestry are warm - mainly in the reddish range, which is a symbol for fire - the main theme in the National Palace of Culture.
