Dimo Minkov Zaimov has graduated in painting at the National Academy of Arts, Sofia under Prof. Dechko Uzunov. Works in the field of painting, monumental art. Lecturer at the National Academy of Arts, becoming a professor at the National Academy of Arts in 1968. Since 1970, he has worked primarily in the field of monumental arts - his panels can be found in the former party houses in Pernik and Veliko Tarnovo; classical stained glass in Dobrich; Buzludzha, as well as hotels in Tarnovo, Plovdiv, Ruse, Burgas, Razgrad, Albena resort complex, etc.

"Sun" is one of the most famous monumental panels by Dimo ​​Zaimov, adorning the stage of Hall 1 at the National Palace of Culture.
The work is non-figurative, which gives the artist freedom for creative expression, because the period in which it was created, namely the 1980s, was a flourishing decade, but still subject to canonical frameworks.
Zaimov's work is free from the ideological imperative of the time. He works in the direction of rhythm, form, composition, technology.
The artist avoids complex plots and focuses on the elegant, precise form, inscribed in a clear architectural context, such as we see in the metal curtain "Sun".
