“A National Book Center will be established in the NDK”, Mr. Miroslav Borshosh announced today at the opening event of the Sofia International Book Fair. The president Rossen Plevneliev opened the 42^nd edition of the prestigious Sofia International Book Fair and the 2^nd edition of Sofia International Literary Festival. Mr. Miroslav Borshosh welcomed the guests of the opening event with the words of Denis Diderot – “People stop thinking when they cease to read” – and announced the establishment of a National Book Center. Its aim will be to support Bulgarian writers and Bulgarian literature at home and abroad, to help translating Bulgarian pieces of literature into other languages and to organize meetings of Bulgarian and foreign writers. The center must be opened till the end of the year by the minister of culture Vezhdi Rashidov. The idea was greeted by the president of “Bulgarian book” association Veselin Todorov.
