The director of NDK Mr. Miroslav Borshosh delivered the big prize of the 4th National photography contest “Charity through the lens”, organized by the Bulgarian Donors Forum and “Help for Charity” Foundation.
The winner, Tihomir Rachev, was one of the artists who earlier this year received a grant for realizing a project on charity. His pictures “Friends of the sea” were part of the exhibition that opened at the Marble lobby of the Palace.
“Here is so cozy and warm because of all your pictures”, Mr. Borshosh said at the ceremony.
“And now, please, do imagine, that you are out under the rain and have no shelter… that you don’t have other clothes… and don’t have what to eat. Or, even worse, that you don’t have money to buy food or medicine for your kid. We have such busy lives that we scarcely give ourselves time to think about all these. George Bernard Shaw has a very precise thought about it: “The worst sin towards our fellow creatures is not to hate them, but to be indifferent to them: that's the essence of inhumanity”. And I am really glad that this exhibition demonstrates how everyone could make something for those who have nothing. Congratulation for this focus”, Mr. Borshosh said while delivering the prize.
Other two photographers that received grants for their projects were awarded at the ceremony. These were Boryana Katzarova with “My Bulgaria, our parents” and Vladimir Pekov with “One direction”. They were chosen after a pre-selection.
