He is an honorary member of the Japanese artists Nika-Kai. Dimitar Kirov – DiKiro is a Chevalier of the French Legion of Honor for Culture, winner of the Silver Medal from Pope John Paul II, the 1st Prize “Vladimir Dimitrov-Maistora” for the cycle “Samuil’s Wars”, the Grand Prize “Zlatyu Boyadzhiev”.
Krikor Azaryan is one of the big names in directorial circles. The “Azaryan” Theater within the National Palace of Culture is dedicated to him.
His students are the well-known Vladimir Lyutskanov, Marius Kurkinski, Petar (Chocho) Popyordanov, Kamen Donev, Koyna Ruseva and a number of others.
The image of Azaryan is immortalized by the iconic artist DiKiro, who is one of the most active artists of the 1960s, who, through the expressive means of color and experiments in form, experimented in a time of strict ideological requirements. He is looking for a pictorial equivalent of musical values with energetic strokes. His is the expression "Black is also a color."
DiKiro largely frees Bulgarian painting from imitation, turning it into a field for spontaneous and personal experience.
All this energy in a pictorial sense is also visible in the portrait of Krikor Azaryan.
The image is technically correctly constructed, contrasting with the bold abstract, expressive, large strokes.
The canvas is dominated mainly by the black color, with yellow, white and reddish spots in places.
