Since 1974, she has participated in a number of general art exhibitions in Bulgaria and abroad. With a theme corresponding to the time and content of the exhibitions in the 1970s and 1980s (her works "Vela Peeva", the tapestry "From Centuries to Centuries"), the artist demonstrates a vivid development and affinity for the urban theme and its modern, photorealistic re-creation (the picturesque composition "Crossroads"), which is one of her first strong attempts in this direction. To this end, Tekla Alexieva orients herself towards original solutions that enhance the vision of technology, contemporary design, new materials, artificial light, and the contemporary architectural landscape.
In 1996 Tekla Alexieva is implementing a project for a postage stamp with the image of Baba Marta, which, according to critics, is the first attempt to convey her mythological, rather than folkloric, image – there, Baba Marta is shown as the eternal bride, with a classically folded hipoli, with a lush chest, with a pose of a Cretan goddess from the time of matriarchy.

To this end, Tekla Alexieva is oriented towards original solutions that enhance the vision of the technique.
In this case, however, given the theme of the work, She integrates medieval techniques such as ornamentation and the construction of imagery inherent in the stylistics of medieval manuscripts.
